Author Palooza

Hi Booknerds! I am here to tell you about the amazing experience I had last night with the author of the book that I am currently reading. The book is titled Love and Other Unknown Variables by the lovely miss Shannon Lee Alexander. She was so nice to me, even though I have not yet completed her book. I have been treated worse by authors. There are the ones who just kind of ignore you because you haven't finished their book. I was so happy Shannon was not this way! I met another author last night by the name of Francesca Zappia. She was amazing to meet as well. She was giving not just myself but other young writers tips. I am so grateful for her inspiring words, and I cannot wait to read her book, Made You Up. I promise you will hear from me as soon as I finish these two books that I presume are absolutely wonderful(I wouldn't know; I haven't finished them).
Happy Reading,
A Booknerd

Red Queen

Book nerds! I have returned to the wonderful(and sometimes horrid) place that is the internet!  I was gone for a very long time and I apologize. While I was gone, to my dismay, I was not able to read much. I did get the opportunity to read a wonderful book titled Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This is probably the best book I have read since starting this blog. I finished it in a hurried manor, eating it up like a child who just had a sweet treat placed in front of them. It was gorgeously written, though repetitive at points. I'm so excited to read the sequel, I just don't know how to get my hands on it.
If you are not familiar with the story here is a brief summary. No spoilers, I promise! The story follows Mare Barrow in a time period far in the future. Her country, Norta, is divided into two groups: silver and red. If you are a silver, you will live a luxurious life don't forget the powers you posses. If you are Red, you and your family are stuck in glorified poverty and are just lowly humans looked down upon by the Silvers. Norta has been at war with the country, the Lake lands, in the north for over a century. Mare is whisked away from her life of poverty to work for the King and his family. When something EXTREMELY unusual happens. I guess you'll have to read the book to find out what it is though.
Anyway, it's a great book and I'd recommend it to a great deal of my friends, especially if they're into dystopian style books.
